Active Christianity

It's a good thing to be active in the things of God.Most of us have always had busy, active days in our lives. Whether it's with our jobs, hobbies, travel, raising children, maintaining our house and yard, doing laundry, cooking meals, or exercising to get into shape and lose a few pounds. The Lord knows it wouldn't hurt me to lose some weight! 😀😀

“But Jesus called them to Himself and said, “You know that the rulers of the Gentiles Lord it over them, and those who are great exercise authority over them. Yet it shall not be so among you; but whoever desires to become great among you, let him be your servant. And whoever desires to be first among you, let him be your slave, just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.” (Matt 20:25-28; NKJV)

Here in verse 28 Jesus said he did not come to be served but to serve. As people who profess to be Christians, should we not as individuals strive to follow His example? One think that comes to mind as I am writing this is a story my wife often shares about her grandpa. He would always tell her " if you see something that needs to be done, do it!"There is great wisdom in that statement.

Why is it we need to be asked to do something before we do it, and when we are asked our brain kicks in to overdrive thinking of reasons we can't. Reasons such as: I don't have time, or I don't want to get my clothes dirty, or I don't get paid to do that.Do we not know that ALL of these responses are of the flesh and contrary to God?

“Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin.” (James 4:17;NKJV)

We brothers and sisters need to watch ourselves, that we do not become like the rulers of the gentiles as Jesus says in verse 25 of our main text above (Matt 20;25-28), and act like we are lord.We should be willing, eager, servants of the Lord, looking for things to do. This is how we will be blessed; this is how we prepare ourselves to be exalted by the Lord.

P.S.: this part is free:The reason someone asked or suggested that maybe you should get involved in an area of ministry in the church was because God wants to exalt you and He gave that person asking you a glimpse of what God has for your life.
