Armor Of God

We read in Ephesians 6, about putting on the whole armor of God so that we can: “withstand in the evil day”(v 13), the attacks of your and my spiritual enemy. But there is another aspect in this scripture. The element of STANDING.Stand is mentioned three times between verses 10 and 14.

After we put on our armour you think it would it would say “now take up the sword and chase the enemy slaying him.”That would be very uplifting statement. But the Word says “stand”.Why stand?

Bullying has been a topic we often hear of in the media. What do they tell the victim to do?“Stand up to them.”Our enemy is a bully, trying to bring us down to concentrate on what he is doing to us, to our loved ones, to those we care about instead of concentrating on what God’s promises are for us.

By standing strong you are showing you are ready to flight, taking the stance of a boxer.Having the full armor in place, drawing close to God by engaging in His Word, showing your faith and being righteous. It is important to know what the truth is and how to apply the weapons of our warfare. This will help in protecting your mind, and being in relationship with our God and Father; then the words of James 4: 7-8 (NKJV) will ring true.“Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.”You must remember it is not you but Christ in you that the devil is afraid of.Remember the words in Acts 19: 15 (NKJV): “And the evil spirit answered and said, ‘Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are you?’” It behoves us therefore to walk in right relationship with and in the authority of Jesus our Saviour and Protector.

During this season, if you don’t know what to do, then STAND under the shadow of Almighty God and having done all, STAND.
