Walk In Love Not FEAR
We are living in a time where in the world there is great fear. A large portion of the world population are scared of what tomorrow might bring. There is a great number of people in the church being shaken to the core. God is bringing to the surface issues in our personal lives that he wants us to deal with.
The core of our beliefs. Asking themselves questions like, "What do I really believe?" In John 6 (NKJV), the people asked Jesus, “What shall we do, that we may work the works of God?” Jesus answered, “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom he sent.” During this time of shaking we need to keep things simple and Just BELIEVE!
Let us resolve to walk in love. For when we walk in love our thought pattern changes. When we walk in love, we see the world through God's eyes and not our own.
1 John 4: 17-19 says "17 Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world. 18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love. 19 We love Him because He first loved us." (NKJV)
I was filled with joy to see that so many Christian communities did not allow this to slow down or stop them from reaching people with the word of God. All different denominations transitioning to online services.
And the most amazing thing is CTV News posted on their website an article on how the religious community has handled the Covid crisis, and in a positive light. For some it has been an eye-opening experience, for many a smooth transition.
Verse 18 above says, "There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment." In Christ we have received perfect love from God. As a Christian, perfect love should be a fruit people see in our lives. So, what is in my life? Do I feel the love and peace of God in and thru my life? Or do I feel worried about tomorrow? Am I made perfect in love or do I need more work? No matter what the answer is, thank God for what he has done and what he is about to do.
We as individuals will respond to what is happening around us according to our past experiences, and how we have trained ourselves to live. For example, our habits, what we are used to doing on a daily basis. What do I normally do on Monday, what do I normally do on Tuesday, etc.? But as Christian's and disciples of Jesus, this should be in line with the word of God. Ask yourself do my habits reflect Jesus? Am I filtering all things through Love?
Lord help me to walk in your Love, and to be a living example of your word in my life and in my deeds. I declare I will not be controlled by my emotions, but instead be led by your Spirit.
Help me to put the safety and wellbeing of others ahead of myself. Use my tongue to speak life and blessings. In Jesus Name! Amen!
